“Last Look”

Arriving in the south circle after walking the Avebury
avenue is a real treat. The stones come out from behind
the henge just as you arrive, like old friends greeting
you at the end of your journey. I took one last photo
of the stones as I arrived back in the south circle. It’s
tough to make out, but if you look just left of center
in this photo you’ll notice a tiny dark smudge. That’s
Jeff waving and giving the signal that it’s time
to hit the road to Uffington.
