I've got to say that for all its grandeur and glory, Stonehenge was about the least powerful of the sites for me. Granted, it is one of the greatest megalithic constructions in human history, but after days of hiking through forests and across fields to spend some time alone at other sites, I was decidedly non-plussed to park in the adjacent lot and pay to see Stonehenge with a bunch of other tourists from behind a velvet rope. Mounds included, the site is huge, and worth a visit for the architectural beauty, but with so many other people around you too may be hard pressed to have a personal experience at this iconic site.

“Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.” Matt. 22:21
