Gnome Captured
|
RB:
This is a very pleasing photograph, one that shows
the joy of the results of a providential hunt. It seems
our gnomers have taken their prey alive. A tricky prospect,
really, given the gnomes natural wiles, but at the
moment it looks to be pacified with a bit of chocolate.
Nonetheless, our wise gnomer on the left has his net at
the ready.
CM:
It looks like there are some more gnomes in the basket.
RB:
Yes, dried ones. They do dehydrate quickly. Whenever
I snare a passel of gnomes and am carrying them home in
a sack, Ive always found it useful to sprinkle a
good quantity of ale on their heads. It soothes the live
ones and saves me the trouble of reconstituting the others.
CM:
So would you deem their day of gnoming a success?
RB:
For quantity, yes. And the live one looks to be quite
healthy. But these gnomers can't be all that experienced,
as they've loaded up on some of those foul mushrooms too.
CM:
I don't think the mushrooms are real, Reg.
RB:
Can't imagine why anyone would want even to pretend
to enjoy those mushrooms.
